Why haven't I yet met my new boss?

Hello all: I am currently reporting to an out of town manager. My position is such that it is basically just me performing the tasks of this department. My boss recently told me that my department will be reporting to another division and that my new boss is a new hire. I am apparently his...

    What else can I do?

Hello Everyone, I was asked to be the project lead for a primarily IT based project. I jumped in with both feet by pulling the team together and learning what had not been given to the IT group that they needed in order to move forward on the project. This project has been started and stopped...

    Options 10 years after graduation

Hello all, I just met a woman who graduated with an electrical engineering degree 10 years ago. She has not ever had a job in her field. She has just recently begun to realize the value of the degree. Is she too late to the game? What can she do to make herself marketable? Classes...

    Levees in New Orleans

After Hurricane Katrina hit Lousiana, more destruction is occurring because of levee failures around the city. Does this mean the factor of safety was too low, they were old, what? They seem to be failing at the purpose for which they were designed. Please explain.

    Gas burner high fire

I have an application which currently uses a burner rated for 47 kBTUH. I would like to use the same burner in a different unit but fire at 49 - 50 kBTUH. I know that I could possibly see lifting flames and decrease in burner life. I will prove these out but does anyone have a solid reason...

    Propane flame fluctuation

Can low meter pressure (12.5" wc) cause a fluctuating flame? I have brand new orifices (no blockages) and stable meter pressure. Gas valve is a slow opening safety shut off. Can you pinpoint something else to check?
