Just wondering how to create an assembly config.
I have assembled several components into a "unfolded" state, but now I want to create a configuration for a folded state to show my customers. How hard is it to do this??
jeep in mind I am using SW 2007
thanks in advance
quick question...
I was wondering what options I might have to export my solidworks ('06) files into Maya or 3DSmax to do a photorealistic rendering.
I tried to use the SW poto works but I was not satified with the result.
any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated,

Basic question I hope,
I have a fairly simple sheet metal part I made, and now I want to flatten it. easy enough I choose "create flat pattern", great now I have a flat pattern and I notice that it is now a feature in my model tree.
so here is where it get a bit tricky, i now create a new...
Hello all,
I am trying to create a mate on 2 parts; first part is a rod with a helical cut out (think lead screw here) and the mating part is a "follower" part which has a feature that fits into the helical groove. but my problem is that I cannot seem to get the tagency mate to work, that is...
I am now doing some consulting work and it has been about 3 months since I have used SW 2006 and it seems that I have lost my touch so if you guys and gals can help me that would be great. I am trying to create an exploded view of a part which follows in line with another "exploded sub assy" so...
I have a bit of a small question here. I have a basic assembly with 4 components mated on a surface (basically it is a PCB encoder so the mates are surface and align acording to a 0,0 hole datum. Now I am very aware of the "show" dimension feature, and since these dimenions need to be "real"...
Once again I am comming to guys and gals for some drawing advice.
I have a dilema in trying to create virtual sharps in a drawing. now i am aware of creating center marks and centerlines in drawings (thanks to Heckler) but that is only helpful in 2 cases..... 1) to add a datum axis in the model...
I know it seems I am asking a ton of questions but is it possible to change the line thickness of, say your dimensions, hatch lines, object lines when you go to print???
because right now all the lines are the same thickness
and my drawing looks cluttered
I will try to explain this as simple as possible. I am currently modeling a part from a 2-D legacy drawing. now my problem is that I have to create a cut into a flat face that is coincident to the front datum plane, with a perpendicular thickness of 5mm now the tricky part is that the back side...
Hello all,
I am very new to Pro-e after getting acquianted with the software is becoming a bit of a task since I have come from many years using Solidworks. So right now my question is, how would I go about creating center lines on a drawing. For example I have a circular piece and I have...
Just wondering if anybody else is experiencing 2006 in being very ssllllooooowwwww. I am currently working in SW explorer and everytime I do an operation I get a the famous message "not responding" in my task manager.
Now before I get the "did you ready the other post regarding this?"...
Tech support, even the VAR in my area promised remarkable changes in PDM 2006. WOW it comes to no surprise that the problems and requests that I was told "would" be fixed in this release have once again reared its ugly head.
1) changing projects (with sub-projects) into other projects does not...
Has anybody had any difficulty using PDM works within XP? specifically bulk check-in?
-we are having some issues with bulk checking-in sub folders within sub folders in XP as well as other issues in reference to lifecycles and automatically updating the revision scheme.
I have come across a new problem everyone... hopefully you can help.
I have situated my recent dilema within PDMworks (thanks to everyvody that helped with my last post)
but now a new problem has arose. When I check out an assembly from my vault the assembly file loads but the parts that make...
The problem I am having is that when our company bulk checked in top assy's some sub-assy, and or part files remained linked to folders outside the PDM works vault, is there an easy way to "re-link" the top assy to the "new" re-named sub-assy's that were checked into the vault?
Thanks

2 questions,
is it possible to do a "batch" or "bulk" check in for legacy drawings into the PDM client? if so how?
and my last question is as a vault administrator when adding projects, is it possible to add sub-project? if so how?
Hello everyone,
I am trying to figure out how to utilize the 3-D sketch tool... since I want to create compound bends on sweep. I figure 3-D sketch would do it but I wnt to know how do you switch between planes. In "solidedge" suite this was attainable by using the control left click... is...
OK so I got the basic yet primative advice on exploding (which was great... thanks to everybody who helped with the info) but I need some more advice.
OK here goes, I have many parts within this assy that are concentric to each other with within the assy. Now as I explode parts through various...
OK once again I have come upon a stumbling block, and I was doing soo well too.
my question is regarding general info in seperate exploding steps for exploded views. so I have figured out how to create a "NEW" exploded step... click on the part to explode then a face for the direction , then...
