Per AWS D1.1 GMAW is considered a prequalified process when considering the use of a prequalified WPS (written of course) but is Pulsed Mig considered to be a prequalified process or just straight short citcuit CV MIG?

I am writing a procedure for structural aluminum using GTAW process in all positions and am doing a PQR for it to qualify the WPS. According to table 3.3 in AWS D1.2 I will need to weld 3 PQR demo plates to qualify the WPS for all positions, Is this a correct assessment?

Is there an SWPS out there from the AWS folks that details the welding of structural aluminum. I have found the one for 18-10 gauge aluminum but cannot find one any higher.
This is probably a stupid question but in the Allowable joint design section of the SWPS's (B2.1-1-016-94 for instance)...
Can someone tell me the difference between qualifiying a welder under aws d1.1 and the asme standards? Will an asme certification cover welders to work to designs that call out d1.1 as the welding spec or should the welder have both?
