    Rumbling York chiller, CW temp down, noise goes away

    WHY? This question goes with the surging question I asked earlier. I was wrong in that last post, when I thought it was surging and now know that it is just rumbling, and that's apparently OK, but I would still like to know how lowering the condenser water temperature entering the chiller...

    Our 2000 ton York centrifugal chiller will begin operating at very low load conditions now that the temps here are beginning to fall into the high 30's at night. We experienced surging last winter and my solution was to lower the condensor water temperature to 65F from 70F. I hope some kind soul...
