Anyone have one or used one?
How good is it with ABS?
We just received one to compliment our R2X, but it is crap quality in comparison. We will probably return it and exchange for another R2X.
We are having great success with part adhesion by just scuffing the Kapton with a sponge sanding block. No slurry required.
The part sticks well but is easier to remove without damaging the Kapton.
We still need the slurry on long (more than 4") pieces though, to prevent corner lift.
Anyone...
How many here have a 3D printer in your work or home office?
What type do you have?
What software do you use to generate, check or fix the g-code?
What slicer do you use?
Are you pleased with the printed products?

It’s that time again…
The next SWUG-Simcoe meeting is scheduled for Thursday, 6th of December 2012 from 5:30pm to 9:00pm and will be held at the Holly Community Centre in Barrie...
The NDA has been lifted and SW13PR is available for download.
Official "sneak peeks" can be viewed at http://www.solidworks.com/launch/solidworks-2013-overview.htm?scid=hp_mar_1_sw2013
Just trying to make sure everyone is aware that SW13 is not just "not supported", it will not even be installable on XP systems.

After 11 years of using SW, I've just discovered that the Tab key can be used to hide components.
Either select or even just hover the cursor over a part and hit the Tab key, and the part is hidden. Shift Tab combination will show the part.
The inaugural meeting of SolidWorks User Group for Simcoe County (Ontario) will be held in Barrie on March 8th.
Richard Doyle will be presenting.
See attachment for full details.

Hooray! I just discovered we can now assign a macro to a keyboard shortcut, without having to create a Macro folder in the install directory.

Just discovered the IF operator can now be used in SW12, as opposed to the IIF operator in previous versions.

If you mean planes and axes, the Autosize function should take care of that.

That should raise the hopes of a few people here.
Any 3D part format (even dumb ones) can be measured.
If you have SW2011 you could use the defeature option to minimize the level of detail, but leave the interface and overall size shape of the part. After that, almost any dumb format could be used, depending on what IV-LT can open.
