I am having some problems with the automatic pipe fitting placement feature with the pipe routing command.
I took the standard ANSI butt weld 1" elbow, created a copy, and added it to the library. I then adusted the dimensions to create 4" elbow.
Using the database administrator I updated...
DOes anyone know of a manufacturer of chilled water storage tanks that specializes in HVAC applications. This is for a 120 ton Trane screw chiller with a short loop. Looking for around 700 gallons.
Does the tank have to be rated to 125 or 150 psi, even if the system pressure will never be over...
I am looking for some info on microturbines:
1. I am trying to make hot water or steam from the hot exhaust. I think the term is a recuperator. Turbine size is 400kw. I know Capstone makes their own for the 60 kw system, but I need to come up with an mfg independent of the Turbine manufacturer...
Gentlemen,
First of all, I would like to thank everybody has participated in this forum. I have been involved for the last year or so and have learned a great deal about HVAC from this forum. You can only get so much from books.
I kind of work on my own and am self taught with a lot of...
Dear Experts,
I am looking for a good definition of SEER and EER. In general the EER is lower than the SEER because SEER is averaged over a season.
EER is based on a 95 F ambient.
That's how I understand it.
Based on this, how can mfg's say a unit has an EER of 14? (EER not SEER).
I was...
Dear experts,
Does anyone know of an mfg of small absorption chillers?
I am looking for 5-30 TR range. Direct fired and waste heat fired.
Thanks,

Has anyone seen or heard about this thing called an Artic master RMS. It used to be called a Talon RMS.
The website www.articmaster.com makes some pretty impressive claims about what it can do. It is a vessel installed in the same place you would put a receiever in an air cooled system. It...
Gentlemen,
I apologize for the dumb question, but what the heck is two phase power? You see it sometimes in old electrical books, in the UGLY's handbook, and people sometimes refer 220/1 sinlge as 2 phase.
Is this just bad nomenclature, or is it something for real?
Thanks,
Clyde
Dear Experts,
I would like some input on an HVAC/Chiller problem (oppurtunity).
Given:
10000 ft^3 semi mobile building. (probably will never move)
12-15 volume changes/hour (2000-2500 CFM)
Desired air supply 68 DB 50% RH
100% Outside Air.
Outside air conditions: worst case 90 DB 90 RH.
THe...
I have a question reagrding the use of the heat transfer coeffiecnt for forced convection.
The type of problem I am working on is that of a copper coil immersed in a tank of water. Chilled water is flowing through the coil.
From Mark's Handbook I have found equeations to get the U from the...
I am looking for some simple equations or rules of thumb for determining the straight length of tubing required to acheive a desired amount of heat transfer. The tubing would be formed into a coil. The coil would be immeresed in both still or agitiated water.
I would like to analyze both...
