Does anyone out there know where I can access a 1960 B31.1 Power Piping Code? I have a customer who is interested in raising the temperature of some existing boiler piping and I want to rerate the piping and do a stress analysis of the existing system. Since the boiler was installed in 1960...
I'm about to get involved in doing piping design for a German customer. Am I correct in assuming that the DN nominal pipe sizes (e.g. 100 sch 40 is the same as 4" sch 40 NPT) are the same as we use in the US?
If that's true why are the pipe flanges different?
Section 122.1.7 of the B31.1 Power Piping Code under Para.(A)Steam Stop Valves (A1)states- Boiler stop valves shall provide bidirectional shutoff at design conditions. That's pretty clear to me - all BEP steam valves should provide shutoff in both directions. However-does the description...
ASME BOILER & PRESSURE VESSLE CODE II PART A - FERROUS MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS, SA-234, Para 7.5 states: Liquid quenching followed by tempering shall be permitted for all grades when approved by the purchaser.
I have a recieved a request to accept some material that has been manufactured this...
What is the difference in using say SA335 VS A335. Is there differnt documentation? I always thought the material and stress values were the same. I've been told that ASME Section 1 requires SA material to be specified rather than A material
When calculating the "C" dim using B16.25 it talks about nominal pipe only and the formula listed is C=A-.031-1.75t-.01(in.). However, I have found that PFI also gives the same formula for nominal pipe but has also given a formula for min. wall pipe (A335, A106,A312) as C-A-.041-2tm (in.) This...
Can anyone tell me how to calculate both the required reinforcement for a rectangular tangential opening in a cylindrical Section VIII vessel and the way to calculate the nozzle stresses?
When I use a bold or thick/large font it appears filled in on the paper and model space, but prints out hollow. Only a thin line, that out-lines the text. I have tried uninstalling AutoCAD and reinstall, however I was unsuccessful. Any Suggestions?
