I am looking for a combined heater and blower unit similar to an industrial heat gun for heat shrink tubing, but one that could be mounted upon a box type structure and be vented to act like a kiln-like system.
Max temp 100 deg F.
I need to cure 3M 1300L which is a contact adhesive. The...
Can anyone tell me an acceptable level of magnetism from the maching operation? ie. grinding.
I am informed that there is some level permissible, but am yet to have that quantified. A Gauss level?
regards
I believe the property required in a material that permits a desired level of magnetism is called "permeability", but I have also heard "permittivity" used.
Is there a way to measure a raw material to define if it is suitable for magnetizing to a certain Gauss level.
We have some magnets that...
We use a BeCu ribbon in one of our loudspeakers. It is under constant vibration/movement and we therefore need the constant flexibility (elasticity?) property of this material. Does anyone know of an alternate material that will withstand constant movement and heat up to 80 deg c without...
Can anyone direct me to a repeatable, accurate, measurable way to tighten cross head screws. We are using an electric screwdriver and #1 bit currently but the charge on the screwdriver eventually diminishes, the bit eventually gets worn (replaced every 4 weeks) and the assemblers change. I am...
Hi,
can anyone tell me how I would accurately inspect a round diaphragm that begins at the outer edge as a horizontal face, moves inwards, blends into a sine-wave form (3x pitches) blends into a horizontal, then blends into an angle and ends at a through hole.
The part is made of fabric and I...
Hi,
am I asking too much of this application to expect it to reach inside a dia 10 mm hole x 15 mm deep. Parent material is AISI 1008 Steel. What is the limiting "aspect ratio" or min dia hole?
Also, I see discoloration at the point of contact from the "hanging wire". I believe it to be from the...
We have a couple of our neodimium magnets plated in Nickel. ASTMB633
We need a test for our receiving inspection other than the std "peel test" to test for adhesion, which does not appear to catch all the discrepant parts. Any ideas are welcome.

I am told that T6 and T651 are "basically" the same.
I stress relieve T6 in-house at 320-350 deg for 4 hrs after machining and that has worked fine.
I believe that T651 is already stress relieved via stretching. Can I use the same technique without altering the FINAL properties too much?
We cleaned an inkstamp part mark with alcohol and the cad plating came right off, exposing the nickel plating beneath. I was unaware that alcohol would remove cad. Is this just poor plating/poor adhesion?
I have a requirement to machine a flatness on an area of less than 16mm to with 0.001mm....yes mm! This is on a titanium part and I need a source that is capable of achieving this....any help would be appreciated.
Can anyone shed any light on this material. I have heard the phrase "Vacuum Arc Remelt" but what does that mean. I believe it is stainles but what are its properties and application. i.e. why would we use this?
I have a drawing here with helicoil callout NAS1130-4F-15/C
I make this to be a 1/4-28UNF x 1.5Dia tangless free running but I do not know what the /C denotes! I have scoured the Emhart website to no avail Any ideas? .....Seasons Greetings all...
I need to grind some AlBemet plates 2' sq x 1/2" thk. I need .010" removed from each side.
Double disc grinding would be Ok too.
Does anyone know of a source that specialise in this/would perform this operation ?
