    Tack Welding an SAE J429 Grade 5 Hex Bolt-1/2"

    Is it permissible to tack weld an SAE J429 Grade 5 1/2" Hex Bolt when the bolt is used to secure an OSHA Fall Protection Anchor? I am not comfortable permitting this, but I would like to see if anyone out there has any other information on the issue. Thanks. Katie Davis, P.E.
