Is there a way to use a sketch to define a track? I am looking to create an assembly load and would like to make quick changes and not recreate the track everytime.
What I am looking for is an method that will all associated data used to create my model. I only want to pick the final data, say a surface model that is complete. Once I copy it, I then paste it into a new file and all the construction data comes with. Is that possible?
In NX it is an...
I am looking to move data using the compass, like the axis to axis in GSD. It is dumb data and I don't want a trail in my tree. Is there a way to do this using the compass?
I looked for an answer in old topics but didn't find an answer.
Is there a differance between assemble and add in part design? I was told to use assemble when at all possible and use negative bodies also. I have been asked but others here why and I didn't have a good answer other than...
Here is another of my "Did it in UG" questions.
Can you create an axis that is normal to your screen?

Sorry if this has been discussed. Everytime I use the search I never get results, even if it is a subject that is actually there, tested it.
Here is my question. Can you make a plane, axis etc. that is normal to the screen? You can do it in UG and the person here who is asking says it can be...
When attempting to paste result with link I get the following error:
Paste is forbidden:Impossible to create an external referance:selection in <Original Data file> is forbidden since <File data to be pasted> was designed in concext <?>
The best I can figure out is that there is some data from...
Maybe someone can set me straight on this one. Is there an advantage to publish bodies, surfaces, points, etc? If so, where is it better than just a straight copy and paste with link.
Thanks.
Ross.
All,
I am looking to get an idea of what Solidworks costs. It would be for one license. Also what is the maintainence for it?
I tried the seach, but it doesn't seem to be working.
Here is the issue. I have a part to be heat staked and need to show it in both pre staked and post staked states. Is it better to have two catparts or two bodies in one catpart. Also there will be a drawing for both states, don't now if that makes a difference.

I came from UG and it has the ability to export data with all the history. It will keep the parameters and all that is needed to create the data, i.e. planes, curves, pts and such. Is that possible? I have not found that yet.
Ross.
OK, I want to ask if this is possible.
In a CATPart.
1. Is there are way to "Define in Work Object" w/o right mouse button. ie double click? Is there something in the options?
2. Is there a way to change the names of geo.sets and bodies w/o right mouse button. i.e. slow double click...
Has anyone used upgraded to Vista and using V5? Just wondering if there are any issue before I make a switch.
