So here's the issue:
I am designing a swivel (1.9" dia OD of high strength 416 SS) the load will be retained by a 1/2" shoulder bolt that spans a .65" channel through the middle of the swivel end.
Issue: I am unable to find any guidelines on how close the bolt can be from the end of the swivel...

I have a question on the stress analysis that has to do with a design that will be using a shoulder bolt. The bolts will be the primary loading points at either end of a vertically loaded swivel.
The mounting hole for the bolt will be called out at 0.3750" (+.0015/-.0010) as...
Hello and thanks for checking this forum ...We are designing a swivel for use in helicopter longline work, and are wanting to transfer an electrical signal through the rotary joint. Yes, there are a lot of slip rings out there on the market, but we have space constraints (OD 2", ID 1"...
Hello Members,
I have been searching in vain for a good site that would help calculate the pull out strengths on machined threads. Just wondering if anyone has a link or other reference material on the subject.
Thanks
Hello Members,
I am searching for a good site or reference material to help calculate the pull out strength on a threaded section that will be machined into a part. It will terminate in a Grade 8 Nut so I am not as concerned with the nut strength as I am with the machined section.
Thanks
