How does one determine what code/standard applies to what? Our project has the requirement that all piping shall conform to ASME B31.3 because it is a chemical plant. Would this also apply to the vents which are PVC? I don't have the code so I don't know whether ASME B31.3 can apply to any and...

I'm trying to size a blower for a fume (UF6 vapor) collection application. What I need is a reasonable assumption/guess for entrance velocity (CFM) for such an application. We don't anticipate much vapors. The application is to capture any vapor escape when making connections. Any ideas? Thanks...
I'm trying to size a blower for a fume collection application. What I need is a reasonable assumption/guess for entrance velocity (CFM) for such an application. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Application
Cylindrical vessel (reactor) that is vented (off-gas) and has UF6, N2, H2, and H20 each entering at pressures around 20-30 psig. The vessel has a design pressure of 29 psia.
Accident Scenario
The scenario is that the off-gas vent line plugs, pressurizing the vessel above its MAWP...
I had a question regarding the forumlas in Perry's for pnuematic conveyance. Does system capacity (kg/hr) refer to the solids, gas, or both? And what happens if the nomographs don't have the values for your system (e.g., the numbers are lower than the lowest point on the nomograph)?
