    Type IV PCB Maximum Span

How far (span length) have you pushed the Type IV's. At that span length what was your spacing. Was it spongy (excessive deflections?)under heavy traffic. I'm curious as to what lengths have been constructed. Would the old beam dept to span ratio of 1/25 apply? Thanks, Tincan.

    Interior Sandblasting / Contamination

I have an interior basement where the walls and columns have severe spall/fracture due to salt contamination/rusting of the re-bar in the walls and the WF's in the columns. The concrete covering for the WF columns are fire protection and have no structural capacity. The walls are fillers, no...

INCREASED "n" FACTOR TO REDUCE VELOCITY??

I have an open channel between 2 fixed elevation RCB's. To connect these two I can use a drop structure or a slope of 1.33% which produces high velocities. Has anyone roughened the interior of an RCB, sandblast or water pressure on setting concrete to obtain a higner "n" value? Would have to...

    AASHTO PCB Spreadsheet Design Review

I have written/developed an Excel spread sheet for the solution of prestressed concrete beams(PCBs) for bridge use updated to AASHTO LRFD(1994). I have used it successfully and it compares very favorably with programs used by the local DOT. However, I have not been able to find a local...
