Hello all!
I have been thinking about making a linear motor. Several permanent magnets on a rail and a trolley with six anchors that is turned on and off in sequence.
(sorry if the gif is hogging all resources)
I have tried to draw this with a few different measurements. But I can't decide...
I feel the need to design a module or two of a cogwheel.
While I have seen many a nice picture on the net, I haven't come across a good description of how to actually design a cog tooth.
My aim is a standard metrical spur cogwheel.
This problem has bested even "Karl Bjorks lilla gula"
I have dabbled with the thought of making a simple sort of linear motor. This far it is merely a thing in my mind. But it raised a few questions about how to produce the components.
Main issue is the shape of the stators. As I have read here the faces to the magnets seem important.

I have by now read a lot about snubbers.
I think snubbers are a remedy for a symptom, not a solution. Well, induktive loads are ... inductive.
The spikes occur due to the transistors switching off very fast.
Would it be feasable to turn off the transistor slowly enough to reduce the spikes...
Hi all!
I want to create a few oscillators using Schmitt inverters and R and C to set frequency. I want them to run almost but not exactly at the same frequency. This because I want to conduct som interference experiments.
When I get close, bam, they get synchronised. The same thing have been...
Hi all!
I am a glider technician, and every weekend the gang gathers for maintainance. Every so often the question arises:
Where do cracks come from?
Some background: We have a set of wings made of glassfiber reinforced plastic (epoxy), with a gelcoat finish. The gelcoat has cracked. Not in...
