I am working on a 3GHz PCB-based antenna. Does anyone have any ideas on which PCB material is best for the cost? My short list is FR4, FR408, Rogers 4003, Nelco 40013. Any other materials that people use? I understand that FR4 is lossy at those frequencies.
Many thanks.
Can anyone point me to any equations for a radial stub RF choke. This is the kind that is etched out on a microstrip board. Is it as simple as a 1/4 wavelength with a 90 degree radius, or is there more to it?
What is the theoretic loss when recieving a circularly polarized transmission with a linearly polarized antenna? I am thinking it should be 3dB am I correct?
I am a bit out of my area of expertise. I have done the Google search etc. came up with nothing. Any pointers to microstrip OMNI design descriptions would be very much appreciated.
I am trying to design a microstrip travelling wave antenna. The antenna is driven by about a 2watt power amplifier. This type of an antenna requires a load on the other end. What are the power handling requirements for the load? Can I just put in a generic 50 Ohm chip resistor?
Many thanks.
