    Is there a way to identify pipe in the field as ASTM A53 Type F (Furnace welded) by simply inspecting its exterior or interior? I would expect that the seam would be visible but would it look any different than Type E (Electric resistance welded)? If it can't be identified by simple...

    Stainless steel fasteners, ASTM F593

    Would anyone know if ASTM F593 and F594 are accepted as fastener materials by US Coast Guard for Inspected vessels? I find no reference to these ASTM specifications in USCG regulations (Subchapter F) or in ASTM F1155 (Standard Practice for Selection and Application of Piping System Materials).
