Is there a way to identify pipe in the field as ASTM A53 Type F (Furnace welded) by simply inspecting its exterior or interior? I would expect that the seam would be visible but would it look any different than Type E (Electric resistance welded)?
If it can't be identified by simple...
Would anyone know if ASTM F593 and F594 are accepted as fastener materials by US Coast Guard for Inspected vessels? I find no reference to these ASTM specifications in USCG regulations (Subchapter F) or in ASTM F1155 (Standard Practice for Selection and Application of Piping System Materials).
