    Pipe end and branch

    I have a pipe which is closed at one end and has a branch coming off it near the closed end. Can I treat this as a simple 90degree bend or would the 'dead end' cause noticable resistance to the flow? Would there be resistance coefficients for this case in ASHRAE Fundamental publications? James.
