is there a package available out there to be able to get data from a S7-300 PLC using visual basic.net
I would like to use this for a display only to show a machine performance on a stand alone application
i.e. machine speed, thermocouple temps etc.
I am not looking for writing values...

6 drives and 10 pneumatic valves will be controlled on this bus
one cylinder valve is very fast acting (12ms). will the profibus be able to switch on/off at this rate or will i have to hard wire to this valve...

i have to build a fairly small panel (its a tight squeeze) and will consist of a 4 amp d.c. drive and a 90-30 ge fanuc plc how close can these go together, has anyone had any problems in the past

hoping for some sound advice, existing motors on a machine are all d.c. permanent magnet 2 hp controlled by regen drives (4 quad), taco feedback. the system requires the motors to change speeds via pid control. the motors dont hold weight i.e. a lift system. i am building a copy type machine but...
