    Equivalence of units in ACI 318M-02

    I have the metric version of ACI 318M-02, and I think there are some mistakes in the change of units. For example, eq. (11-3) Vc= 1/3 (f´c) ½ bw d, in Newtons (N). The 1999 version gives Vc= 2 (f´c) ½ bw d , lb , which x 1/12 gives Vc= 1/6 (f´c) ½ bw d , N. Since I don´t have...

    Shear in flat slabs

    Statement: The value given in section 11.12.3.2 of ACI 318-99: Vn = 6(f´c) ½ bo d is too small, gives problem in design and should be increased, even reducing Vc. I will appreciate your opinions.
