We are purchasing a hydrogen cooled generator. Is there a standard test (IEEE?) for shop testing the gas flow through the generator? I have heard of a ventilation test or blower surge test mentioned before.

Our transportation dept has informed me a Section VIII vessel we have on order might be too large to ship in one piece. The final weld (for pressure boundary) would have to be completed in the field. The weld exam, hydro, and application of the U stamp would have to be done in the field as well...

What process do you have to go through to do a Code reconciliation? We will have to do one in the future for equipment purchesed against a later edition than what the plant (nuclear) was certified and built to.
