I had renamed some configurations the other day. When I open the assembly now - it is prompting me with a message:
'the following configurations could not be found. If they were renamed the same configurations will be used'
(or something close to that).
Shouldnt this message stop once I...
Im trying to unsupress files in an assembly we have in our PDM vault.
I know the location of the part files. I know the references are pointing to the right location and the file names in the references agree with what the files are actually named. For some crazy reason though, they arent...
I'm looking for a good way to mirror a large assembly without doubling all my files. This is a case where I'm probably ok to use a dumb-solid as the mirror version (instead of something with editable features). I was thinking I would do a save-as on my assembly and create an iges of it with a...
Im having a nasty time getting my reference dims to stay when i place them in my main assembly ('tis getting rather large in size; 8000kb or so). Let me explain-
The goal here is to simply plop a few dims into my assembly and run off a few tabloid size prints for a customer (its a room layout...
Someone at my company recently purchased a laptop with Vista x64 OS on it. I knew SW2008 was built to run on Vista (32 at least), but I'm wondering if they are working on a patch for 64 or if they currently have anything.
Anyone have any ideas here?
Thanks,
Jay W.
Im currently working with SW2007. I'm designing 2 fixtures to check length tolerances on this wire harness. One fixture will check the mean part print dimensions, one will check the min. part print dimensions. I have one big bass plate and about 15 different riser brackets with clip-blocks...
I keep getting an error - "open clipboard failed" - every time i try to insert a part into my assembly file. Im running sw2007. Ive got the newest sp. Anyone have any idea what the problem could be?
Sometimes ill pull in a parasolid file and for whatever reason when i zoom to fit the 3d file ends up being way the heck off to one side in perceived distance. Is there some way to reset the screen center so that zoom-to-fit actually does zoom to fit?
Thanks,
Jay
I've been wondering if there is any way to do this. Lets say ive got a drawing with a bajillion lines or so and i have to individually pick a bunch of them for some reason. Lets pretend i accidentally choose "move" instead of "copy". Once i cancel it, i have to reselect again. Does anyone...
I have to make revisions to a relatively old ACAD drawing (last tampered with in 1999). The detail needs to go onto a newer standard sheet for the company and some stuff needs to be edited. The sheet looks fine when i open it up. Heres the problem though: the entire file is blocked and the...
Dont get me wrong, i love sworks (drawing parts 3 dimensionally is quicker and easier), but in my opinion they really need to work on making the drawing/detailing aspect of it more customizable. Detailing has been nothing but one giant hastle in every job i do. Anyhow...questions:

Quick question. How do i permanently change my view options? I'll go to open a file in autocad and my select file dialog box will let me change my file view option from tiles to details, but as soon as i close out and re-open the file dialog box, the view setting changes right back to tile...
If i use the leader tool in autocad and set my text to top-left justification, the line from the leader is central to the text height....like so:
<------BLABLA
however, when i go into dimstyles and change my fit to 1/2 the previous scale, then do a dim update, then change the m-line text to...
Ok....basically I need to be able to take a standard blocked out sheet that I have in autocad (same exact fonts and everything), and put it into a workable solidworks template. Ive been messing with this for a day now and it's driving me mad. I DID read the help file first, but unfortunately...
