Hi all,
Does anybody know the fatigue limit of the A4-80 bolt? A4-80 is made of acid-proof steel. I have found the fatigue limit value for the 8.8 steel bolt, but not for the A4-80 acid-proof bolt.
Hi all,
I have used a weld element to join dissimilar meshes together. The weld element works well for linear static analysis but badly for nonlinear static analysis. The surfaces of the weld element slide when analysis type is nonlinear static.
How is it possible?
We use NeNastran V9.0 and Femap V9.1. Does not Femap really show the contact pressure distribution/values? Almost all of our calculation includes the contact surfaces.
We have phased in a new version of NeNastran (V9). Earlier we used V8. The new version gives totally different maximum stress compared with version 8. We have used the same NAS-file for both Nastran versions.
How that is possible?!
I have heard that the contact modeling is difficult by NE/Nastran, if you want to determine a friction coefficient. Is it true?
I know it's possible to model the contact such a way that there is no friction or friction is infinite.
The stress in the point of discontinuity (for example, the corner of the structure) depends on the size of the shell element (smaller element -> higher stress). Is it impossible to solve exactly the stress in the point of discontinuity (by using the shell elements)?
If I make a model by Femap and use parabolic elements, NEi/Nastran gives me a warning 'T2004' and it is caused by quad8-elements. If I use the same model and make an analyze by MSC/Nastran -> No problem.
How this is possible?
I would like to know the strain hardening of the crane runway girder. The material of the crane runway girder is acid-proof steel. I know that the ultimate stress correlate with the hardness of the material. Does anybody know is it possible to determine the strain hardening by measure the...
I’m using an NE Nastran and Femap 9.0. The problem is that I can’t possibly remove the constraint force vectors. Those vectors are still in place although “Deformed style” is setted to “None”. That’s not desirable when I want to present the element model without vectors. The only way to remove...
I’m using an NE Nastran and Femap 9.0. A constraint forces and vectors are shown although Deformed style is “None – Model only”. Could please anyone tell me, how that is possible.
Results (displacements) are not reliable when I use rigid elements and I have fixed only T1, T2 and T3. Why?! When I use equations (T1, T2 and T3) results are correct.
