    Application of technology ?

I can see where this could be applicable to several venues of modern engineering... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiSTEBvwwfQ&feature=youtu.be Rod :-)

Open question on converting to Methonol

Many years ago, too many, I raced several bikes and cars on Methanol. However time and distance has converted all that knowledge into "legend". Considering converting a small 1300cc displacement engine to an alcohol type fuel using a 45 DCOE-9 carb. Your thoughts and suggestions. Rod

    Future for Blue Angels

With all the budget cuts by the DOD, perhaps this is what we can expect for our future flight demonstration teams. http://biggeekdad.com/2011/12/jetman-versus-jetteam/ Pretty awesome, just the same. Rod

    Uber performance helicopter?

I'm not really 'into' helicopters but since looking at the X3 I kinda segued into the RC realm...I'm not too sure what to make of this thing. http://www.flixxy.com/coolest-rc-quadrocopter.htm Rod

    Helicopter concept, but...

Interesting concept but given such vestigial rudders on the empennage, what form of prop/pitch/throttle control for yaw? http://www.youtube.com/embed/8ljxyDtCsaM Rod

    RC Aircraft...SR-71

For a few years, a long time ago, I tried designing/building and flying RC aircraft. Eventually getting to 1/4 scale sailplanes. Very expensive hobby that I was forced to give up partly because of the expense and partly because of the time/complexity (the wife). Now well over 30 years have...

    Mortorcycle control dynamics

Sorry bout that. I couldn't resist after seeing this video. WOW. I've been on bikes since 1949 and I doubt I could even get part way... http://www.youtube.com/user/vystrcil Rod

    Ten year old finds supernova?

I'm amazed that there is any place left in North America where one can even see a supernova. Hell, the damn moon could explode over Socal and I couldn't see it! http://newsfeed.time.com/2011/01/04/10-year-old-discovers-supernova-wraps-up-a-in-any-future-science-class/ Phenomenal, to say the...

    EV conversions

Here is an interesting site. One of the locals has just done this on a VW. Looks pretty simple and economical if it works as advertised. The mechanical end is quite simple, very easy conversion. Battery placement seems to be taken care of but I know nothing about the power conversion and...

    Eshaust system tests

I had not , until this last week, done much work on exhaust systems v cam timing since the mid 80's. We just spent three days with a four cylinder ~185hp(155 at the wheels) @ 8400 rpm, 1594cc Lotus twincam engine on a Clayton chassis dyno testing just exactly that. What a shocker...After hours...
