    Divert well water and tie back into same header

    We have a well water system that flows through the plant and then goes back into the ground (injection well). Can we divert part of the flow to a heat exchanger using a booster pump, and then tie this back into the same header? Would this be highly illegal, slightly unorthodox or perfectly ok...
