Dear Experts,
What should be coating thickness of Tungsten Carbide on metal seated ball Valve? In one of TOTAL specification I have noticed the coating thickness to be 400 microns. But many of the vendors in the field informs that 400micron is not a good option. Most optimum value shloud be in...
Dear Experts,
I am confused about hardness requirement of Corrosion Resistant Alloys. NACE MR 01-75/ISO-15156-1/2/3 does not categorically suggests the hardness value of Incoloy-825 and Incoloy 625 material. Can experts in the field through light on the subject.

Hi Experts,
Can any body suggest whether in a offshore platform all the valves including Shut Down Valve can be made metal seated. In such case what should be the criteria in case of spec. Break. Because with metal seated valve, zero leakage is not possible and hence, if there is a spec. break...
Dear Experts,
I am little confused to understand that ZINK being anodic with respect to carbon steel how it will save carbon steel from corrosion in case of hot dip galvanizing. Rather, the zink layer will get corroded.
Please clarify my understanding on the issue,

Dear Experts,
Is any difference in piping support design for a piping system having slug flow. Can any body suggest study material for the same.
Thanks and regards
Dear Experts,

Dear experts,
I have a very special problem of routing a pipe of 32" size in over head pipe. The problem is associated with routing of the pipe in an existing complex. There I can not make platform/rack and therefore, I have to put local supports based on stress analysis.
The contractor...

Can any body suggest advantage and disadvantage of Longitudinal seam visa-vis helical seam welded pipe because I am in fix to decied between this two with API-5L pipe. Further, I would like to know what should be preffered between this two. Please suggest.
I have observed a unique problem with respect to dilution of Fe content while welding over laying 3mm Incoloy 625 on API -5L pipe. After over laying it was observed that Fe conten has gone up to 8% in the over laid layer. Fe content as indicated in MR 01-75 FOR Incoloy 625 is 5% max. Now can any...
In one of the specification I have found that client has asked for Inter Granuler Corrosion test as per ASTM A 262 Practice F for Incoloy 825 cladded pipe. But test conducted by the manufacture resulted in corrosion rate more than required minimum as per the specification. But now the...
I have found a specification requirement for Incoloy piping with ASYM B 423 cold finnshed annealed material for piping system. But I have learnt that ASTM B 423 material is available in cold finnished annealed condition uo to 6" only. There fore I have no other option but to use ASTM B 423 hot...
I have found a specification requirement of ASTM B 425(UNS No. N 8825)forging for fittings and flanges but I have observed that this ASTM specification is for rod and bar not for forging whereas the ASTM B 564(UNS No. N 8825)is for forging.
Now I am informed that if any specification calls for...
