Wondering about necessary layers on a rooftop deck:
Underlying structure is composite concrete-on-corrugated-steel (Vulcraft 3.5" dovetail galvy decking w/ 5.5" total slab).
- On top of that goes 12" EPS. (Crazy regs here in MA - they require R60 on roofs now!)
- On top of EPS goes tapered...
On corrugated steel/concrete deck, how are mid-span loads distributed?
Extra rebar crosswise? Truss-girders down the trough?
Thanks for any info,
Rolf in MA
Hi all, large residential project going up in MA, using ICFs and composite/slab deck throughout.
I know I have seen pics of rebar-fabricated triangle-truss INSERTS as reinforcement of specific troughs, where needed, to form a stronger span than normal deck + rebar would create.
Can't find links...
Hi all,
Designing a 3-story residence, all concrete (likely cinderblock w/ poured/ reinforced cores).
Floors/roof will be poured, but considering 3 different options for substructure:
- Corrugated 'bridge deck' steel pan;
- Steel I-beams w/ steel arch pans between;
- Pre-stressed concrete...
