    Galvanized C Purlin span question

    I am building a carport and have a question about how far a purlin can span. I have two options to use. See the screenshot below. Option 1: Two 2"x6" 14 gauge purlins welded or bolted back to back OR Option 2: A single 2 3/4" x 8" 12 gauge purlin
