    Plate and Beam composite

    I have a sanwhich structure made of two beams inbetweem two flat plates welded. This structure was pressurized and after some time ( 50 PSI) I hear a pop noise..this continued as the pressure was increased upto 300 psi. Then when the pressure on the plate was reduce slowely, still heard a pop...

    I am designing a tank with leg support, and want to know what is the allowable natural period to ensure stability of the tank. Also, how much lateral sway allowed? Any good references on this topic? Thanks Raj
