I am new to FEA and I have a truss with some tension only members to analyze. I want to write a MATLAB code for this purpose but I don’t know how I should model the tension only members.
I hop that anyone can help me or recommend a book to read.

Guys I got a serious problem
I have shallow foundation that needs a single pile under a column
I dont have pile dimensions but i have c and friction angle of soil
How can i design this pile and calculate spring stiffness for modeling Safe?
I googled it but i didnt find single answer for it...
