I am in the process of choosing hybrid ceramic ball bearings for a high speed alternator (turbo-generator) application and would like recommendations as to good spin to roll ratios. Various ball bearing design programs will predict the ball to spin ratio under specific loading and speed, but...
I am looking for the mean free path of Hexane gas (at 0.7 bar 80 deg C) or a way of calculating it. If I knew the molecular diameter I could calculate it from that - but I have had no luck on the web as yet.
I am trying to design using glass filled PEEK (for example Vitrex 450GL30) for a lifetime of 20000 hours under 10 MPa stress at 100 deg C. I need the creep properties (eg modulus) to allow me to calculate the strain after this time? Thanks.
