    De laval Nozzle Question

Is the outlet velocity of the gas from de laval nozzle independent of its inlet velocity ? From the eqn i can see that the outlet velocity is dependent on inlet pressure, temperature, isentropic expansion factor, outlet pressure. Additionally will choked flow occur at 500m/s(inlet velocity) or...

    Cd for F1 cars

So F1 cars have open tyres but why does this increase the drag. Secondly is the speed of the air above the tyre slow or fast relative to the car? Thirdly does streamlined vehicles reduce the downforce because air flow fastly and smoothly on top of the cat

    Cd for Volkwagen XL1

So VW XL1 is claimed to have the lowest coefficient of drag in the world. Is it the rear wheel skirt that makes it so aerodynamic? And how much of significance does Cd have in aerodynamics ?I have attached the pic below

Maximum axial load is proportional to the second moment of area?

Maximum axial load is proportional to the second moment of area. Thus can we reason that aluminium cans are cylindrical because they have a high second moment of area(mr^2) compared to other shapes(Which gives it a higher max axial load.)?
