design a 15 story tower with very large area of low rised shopping area (5 story).
if running in a modal response method, do i need to worry about lower area with different period (much less)?
right now the Tx=2s is governed by the tall tower i believe.

An existing 4 level concrete building to have 1 level added transfer steel frame and 3 level added timber structures. there is a rigid slab at steel transfer frame level.
As you know it is not possible to model timber building in Etabs.

Hi Guys.
I have a question on shear force distribution to a steel framed building with concrete shear core.
The shear core is not at the centre of the rectangular slab. So the building has some torque. I put a number of moment frame and trying to balance the torque.
is there any simple hand...
