Calculation Troubles!
I am trying to work out induced compressive stress in a member from a dynamic load (a dropped member) using a formula taken from strength of materials, Case and Chilver second edition - 22.6 (rod struck by a moving mass). 3 Sided Sheet Pile Wall Problems
I am checking a temporary works scheme and I am looking for help resolving a particular element. The scheme consists of a 3 sided sheet pile wall (11m back face and 10m long side walls) with earth support at toe and a single waling level.
