PORCH DECK DIAPHGRAGM
I have a 16' x 20' deck with 2x6 lumber flat supported on joists that are supported on beams. A wood frame is at one end and concrete shear walls are at the other. Eccentric Continuous Wall Footings
I have a two-story masonry wall on a property line and it is to be supported via an eccentric footing. I have read other threads, but could someone post the mechanics (sketch of free body diagragm) of utilizing the slab adjacent to the resist the rotation. Does increase in footing width help...- JRSE
