Has anybody tried laser welding of Titanium and Stainless Steel using Nd@YAG laser(2.5kw)? Thickness of two metals = approx 1.0mm, circumferential seam weld.
Would appreciate any advice on whether this is possible and if so any useful info from experiences!

I currently use a Nd:YAG for welding ST/ST components. I experience a deposit of a black powder like substance on the components afer welding.
