I bought a space pilot and used it for a while. I wasn't greatly impressed. I also use keyboard shortcuts and the mouse and have gone back to using these.
I had a lot of problems with 2009 SP 0 and recently wiped everything and reinstalled it with SP1. This has been noticably more stable. Most of the hangs and crashes are when we've got multiple drawings openned.
I've recently had problems with modifying joint nodes in this version of the software when doing beam analysis. SolidWorks has confirmed this is a regression in 2008 SP5 and will not be fixed in this version.
I have 2009 PDMW installed on the same machine as 2008 and am unsure if you can run both vaults on the same computer. Also, I haven't yet worked out how to log in to the 2009 vault. Sorry cannot be of more help.
I have had some major problems with the software similar to thoes discussed above. I'm still waiting on a resolution of these matters. Many though not all of the issues occur when using Simulation/Cosmo.

I've just tried to run a drop test. These are computationally demanding so I tried to be economical with the meshing. Part of the assembly was a pipe which lends itself to being modelled as a swept surface. That was done. Opened a static study and the surface automatically appears in the parts...
Well the Simulation add-in went from bad to worse and in the end it was crashing everytime I tried to open a past file or start a new study.
I've reinstalled windows desktop search at the suggestion of the VAR and removed and reinstalled 2009 also at the VAR suggestion. We'll see what happens.
