Joe I am getting somewhere. A chap on the Autodesk form got the principles to work (attached) but I haven't had time to look into it. Change the dimensions in the palette and the array moves. The variable are stored in an ini file somewhere which may be manipulated using a script language...

    Dynamic array in my parametric-block

Joe I want to control the block from the properties palette and then I will control the block using AutoCAD's SDK functions (C#). The block needs to be 100% programmable with no screen interaction (no grips eventually). I have a similar model that works in Revit perfectly and in 3D, gives me a...

Looking for Alternatives to Acad for Dynamic Block creation

Joe I have been looking for a parametric model program for a while now and the best is Revit. TurboCAD say parametric in their literature as do Solidworks. All very expensive (My Revit and AutoCad cost me close to £5000 and £900 per annum subscription). Check out LibreCAD for open source...

    Parametric Model and BIM

Dear all I have been using the parametric abilities of the AutoCAD program. If I build a model using, say, 12 components, is it possible to list each of the components and attach attributes such as cost, materials, size and supplier to the components and include them in the list. Regards

    Modifying a dimension line

Dear All I have tried moving the text using grips and the gap is always the same (image). With multileader, I am able to change the landing gap and space. I suspect the control is within the Style Manager Modify but I am unable to find it. Thanks for the...

Chaps Thanks for the advice. DIMGAP did not work. Exploding did but it seems to be a bit of a fudge. Thanks again.

    Re-naming Blocks

Thanks ohiocad. I like the idea of a LISP routine to automate the process.

    Re-naming Blocks

I tried rename but I had to scroll through hundreds of blocks with similar names to find the block I want to keep. Is it possible for me to select an individual block and rename it?

    Frequent crashes and strange operations

cfee I have recently "upgraded" my PC so that I now run 64-bit 2011 on a Xeon and I have experienced similar problems and I have 8mB. In fact, I am considering going back to my old machine with 2009 installed. I am beginning to suspect that the problem lies with AutoCAD and not the machine.
