    A1 CS Channels

Hello, I downloaded the ANSI profiles for weldments from the SW library. Amongst them, I found the "Al CS Channel (squared ends)" profiles. the problem is that none of the suppliers I usually work with have it. After a quick search on the web, I have found no informations about a "Al CS...

Anyone running SolidWorks on a Mac?

When you run bootcamp on a Mac, you have a PC, end of story. The only possible source of problem with a mac is the graphics card. Since they are not supported (they are gaming cards) SW tech support might tell you any graphical problem you have is... just too bad.... But they should be able to...

Shape Feature will not be supported in SW 2010

Maybe they wont develop or improve it anymore, but I doubt they will trash it completely. You should still be able to import it from old files. A good example would be Excel BOM. They arent really featured anymore as the SW BOMs are now better for the job. You can however still use them when...

How to make 5km pipe with XYZ points?

Well, my understanding of the 1 Km. limit is that it has to be inside of a 1 kilometre cube, centered at the origin (so 500 m. on each side of the origin). If your tube is not straight and folds back and forth within that cube it should be OK, but I guess it depends on what you are doing...

Highlight drawing component in graphics view

How about turning the appropriate option instead of writing a macro? ;) In the display/selection options, check in the box that says “dynamic highlight from graphic view”. On the plus side, props on not letting a problem bother you! Just write a couple of lines of codes and keep on working! I...

Side by side comparison of graphics cards.

Thanks a lot Bouke, this is almost exactly what I wanted. It would of been great to have all the cards in one list, but this will do. A star for you [thumbsup]!

Side by side comparison of graphics cards.

Hello everybody, I have been looking on the net for a side by side comparison of CAD graphic cards but I have not found what I want. All the sites either compare all the cards of a single company (e.g. all the Quadro FX cards, or all the Firegl cards) OR, they compare just two cards (e.g...

    Extruded text

Hi, Zoom in on your text, and make sure that the letters do not overcross or overlap. If it is the case, then you have to select contours. A way to fix this is to increase the space between letters in the feature manager of the text tool.

    Icosahedron

Hum, I know that a couple of years ago I found a tutorial online on how to make Platonic solids... Some of them were really hard to do! Just make a search on google, or you can import a model from another program.

Take a break --- have a laugh with Matt Lombard

Anyone running SolidWorks on a Mac?

Look at this on the requirements pages of solidworks.com: "Please Note: SolidWorks 2007 is not currently supported on Apple Mac®-based machines. Please consult your reseller for future updates." Very straight forward, but do you think the "future updates" part means they are...

Anyone running SolidWorks on a Mac?

I hink people need to realise that now that "Mactels" exist, it's not Mac vs. PC anymore but rather OS-X vs. Windows. Inside a mac, you have the same things as in a PC: hard drive, processor, graphics card, RAM, etc.

Decimal hole table in Fraction drawing.

Hi everybody, I have a Drawing with fractional dimensions. The problem is that I want to have my hole table in decimals. I found the following thread "559-118779" which is a similar subject but not quite. I think the excel table might be a good idea, but has there been a change between 2007...

    Switching from Catia to Solidworks

The basics are the same between the two. Kind of like the difference between Inventor and SW. At the begining you will probably swear because things works differetly than in CATIA and your habits will have to change. But all in all, they are pretty much the same as they both have, as you said...
