    Modeling a Pump in HydroCAD

Thank you. As soon as I get the green light to continue with my project, I am going to try this and see what happens. Thanks again!!!

    Modeling a Pump in HydroCAD

I have already modeled my drainage basins and detention pond. Can you explain how to use the special outlet device to define a pump rating curve? I have the outlet modeled as a culvert with free discharge.

    Modeling a Pump in HydroCAD

Is there anyway to model a pump in HydroCAD?

    Thank you...

    Need HEC-HMS Assistance

    So for a 25 year storm, should I put 25%.... and for a 50yr, 50%????

    Need HEC-HMS Assistance

How do you change from a 10yr storm to a 25yr storm in HEC-HMS? and 25yr. to 50yr. to 100yr. etc?

    Need HEC-RAS Help

Francesca... I see what you are saying about modeling the junctions, about how you need to put the reach lengths in the junction editor versus the cross-section editor (of the last cross-section near the junction). My problem with that is that I have a culvert that connects one reach to the...

    Need HEC-RAS Help

Francesca, I am still working on your comments.... thanks for the input once again. I am sure that I will have more questions to come.

    Need HEC-RAS Help

TerryScan, I had the lake modeled as a storage area, but I didn't know exactly what values to use for the SA. I ended up taking the lake out. My watershed drains into Lake Pontchartrain. I am not really sure on how to model this situation.

    Need HEC-RAS Help

Francesca, First of all...THANK YOU so much for helping me out!!! I looked at the Hydraulics Manual and it is much better than the user's manual. It wouldn't let me check or put in and input for boundary conditions at the downstream junctions. I added a normal depth at the upstream boundary...

    Need HEC-RAS Help

It is actually mainly at my upstream part. I tried to enter the downstream slope in the reach boundary conditions and it says that I can't set the slope for junctions. I have junctions where my reaches combine and flow together downstream. I have everthing ultimately flowing into a lake (I...

    Need HEC-RAS Help

Am I the only person who thinks that HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS are EXTREMELY frustrating. I am still having a huge prolblem with my water surface elevation that HEC-RAS is giving me. It is showing that my water surface elevation in my watershed is about 10ft. over roads and high railroads. This...

    Need HEC-RAS Help

Where can I look at the cross-section report? I got all of my information from a surveyor. I work for an engineering firm and I am conducting a master drainage plan for a certain area.

    Need HEC-RAS Help

OK. I put the flows in like you said. The water in my watershed is draining into a huge lake. The water elevation that the program gives me is about 5 ft over my roads and over my railroad tracks. This can't be right. Can someone give me an idea on how to model this lake and everything...

    Need HEC-RAS Help

Are you positive...because when I input the flows as 181 and 251, my water surface elevation is about 5 ft. above where it should be. If I put the flos in as 181 and 70 then it gives me reasonable water surface elevations.

    Need HEC-RAS Help

When entering steady flow data for the different reaches, should you enter the "total" flow or should you enter the flow that will contribute to that reach upstream? For example: If you have two reaches that are joined (one upstream (#100) and one downstream(#99)). (#100)=181.00 cfs...

    Need HEC-HMS Assistance

Do you need to input both values of CN and IA when modeling a subbasin in HEC-HMS using the SCS Method? Considering the IA equation includes the CN number. S=(1000/CN)-10 IA= (S)x(0.2)
  19. Jessica2424

    Need HEC-HMS Assistance

    So, should I use 0.2 or (0.2)x(S)?

    Need HEC-HMS Assistance

When putting in data for subbasins using the SCS Curve Number Method... what is initial loss (in.) or initial abstraction (in.)??? Is it the potential maximum retention (in.) otherwise known as "S" which is =(1000/CN)-10????
