    Thanks robyengIT. Yes, the pocket size is 420mm. I couldn't understand the 2nd solution exactly. The machine is already on the foundation, so it is very difficult to do any changes in pockets.

    Littleinch, I already had read that thread. I got what it says. But, what I want to know is how the throttling (i.e., reduced pressure) ultimately results into reduced flow and constant pressure at compressor's outlet.

    Ok, it is clear that Inlet Guide Vanes effectively controls the flow rate. But, what I do not understand is the exact thermodynamic or physical phenomenon happening at IGVs. How they reduce the outlet flow for same inlet flow?
