Air India 787 crashes on take off

Just a clarification. Flight data monitoring FDM. Is a different system and use than flight data recording. Recording is for post accident analysis. Monitoring I can't list the range of uses it used for from aircraft maintenance through quality auditing of pilot performance and compliance...

Air India 787 crashes on take off

The switches on the a220 are in the same place and have semicircle guards higher than them. In my experience nobody goes near them apart from engine start and shut down. It's a pretty firm pull to unlock them and hold and move. No I didn't expect him, or for that matter med Europe Scots...

Air India 787 crashes on take off

India and asia it is not unusual to wear a face mask mainly due to air pollution. This occurred before covid and still does. Depending on the destination i still have mask wearers on board in europe. As for during covid it was normal for masks on when cockpit door open then off after locked...

Air India 787 crashes on take off

I have a sick feeling. Don't know how to comment to be honest.

Air India 787 crashes on take off

I am not rated on type. Is it the same on both engines types?

Air India 787 crashes on take off

It doesn't. The eec comes online at 8% n1 during start. It doesn't actually do anything until 20% when the fuel metering valve opens and the ignitors light up.

Air India 787 crashes on take off

"I get that but don't you think generators that operate the FADEC would have some mention in the MEL?" No because you ain't going flying with it broken. Mel only has things that can be broken and you can still go. You can get redundancy loss items which may indicate something is broken...

Air India 787 crashes on take off

If something isn't mentioned in minimum equipment list it means if it's broken you can't dispatch. That doesn't mean it's not there.

Air India 787 crashes on take off

I don't think it needs to be live until things are ready for the fuel to get turned on which is around 20%. You only need the air starter valve to get HP air to get things turning or AC power on the 787 which can be controlled externally. To be honest these engines require very little input...

Air India 787 crashes on take off

"Then in a more recent post, I linked a professional looking video tutorial overview of the B787 electrical system. In that video, it is claimed there are two other independent power generating sources in the engines. One being a dedicated 28VDC PMG for flight controls, and the other being a...

Air India 787 crashes on take off

I seem to remember that it's very hard to know if a switch is moved or it's a wiring fault. It has the be crossed with the cvr hearing the movement... They are talking about touch screens which is an idea in hell to me encouraging fingerprints on the screens. That one has issues for primary...

Air India 787 crashes on take off

Tru is transformer rectifier unit converting AC to DC Fwd aft same as a boat EP emergency power. TU will be transformer unit. The A might be auxillary but not sure. Could be for powering the seat screens, usb points, Led lighting in cabin etc. I am being watched.... Apparently ATU is an...

Which ones do you want tug? I see that article just listing the possibilities with no real information.

Air India 787 crashes on take off

had a technician rated on the jumpseat yesturday. He suggested it could have been the weight on wheel logic that triggered the start of the events. There is no output decrease from the generators dependant on power setting that i can see. I suspect its a fadec function to increase fuel flow...

Air India 787 crashes on take off

I can't see how all the perm magnet sources can fail at precisely the same time. Or the emergency fuel and hydraulic valves to shut. The precision and lack of yaw as both engines died is actually quite hard to engineer in my opinion and experience.

Air India 787 crashes on take off

A normal shut down takes some time because it has compressed air blowing the fuel out the nozzles so it doesn't dry in there and gum them up.

There isn't that much pipe after the fire wall max 4 meters. It's 3/4inch pipe moving over 3000kg of fuel an hour during takeoff.
