    Strain Gage Analysis versus FEA

    I do this type of comparison all the time and I have found the results to be with in 5% and sometimes with in 1%. I think the trick is not so much in the FEA but in the strain gaging. Make sure your placement is very PRECISE in terms of location and direction of the grid. HTH
