Missing solder point on pcba assembly.

Hi Charn24050, Yes I think that would be a smashing idea if it works! Just need more info on the system. Do you use B/W or color CCTV system? and how do you trigger the mechanism of flash when the two photos mismatch?. Sorry I may be asking some dumb questions, as I have not used such systems...

Missing solder point on pcba assembly.

Hi Nbucska, I see the point of using a color that is opaque to the board, but i do not understand the your calculations, ie the 40Khz and 2500/4870 , and 6600 cycles. Would appreciate if you could explain in simpler terms. My knowledge of optical physics is quite bad.. Thanks.

Missing solder point on pcba assembly.

Hi Steve Owens, We are running mass pro around 5k boards per day and i do not think it is possible to subject all of them into this accelarated environmental test methods, as this is introducing another process in the process plan and moreover my hookup wires in the pcba cannot withstand more...

Missing solder point on pcba assembly.

Hi all, When i review all the valuble inputs from all of you, i conclude this is problem is quite a tough nut to crack. I must admit that electrical testing might not be the "catch all" for this kind of problem. I think visual inspection might be the best solution, as susggested by...

Missing solder point on pcba assembly.

Hi Melone, Thanks for the quick response. I agree with you this Temp cyle test is probably the most effective test method for weeding out such kind of defects. But our volume does not justify the purchase of a TC chamber. I was looking for some kind of simple electrical test circuits that might...

Missing solder point on pcba assembly.

Hi there! Need a bit of some guidance from pcba assly gurus; You see, I have double sided pcb and on this i mount only the following components. a) resistors - 3 pieces , total 6 solder points. b) Photo interruptors - 3 pieces, total 12 points. c) Hook up wires - 12 points In total I have 30...

High voltage ac to dc converter.

Hey guys, All of you have been so wonderful in providing me plenty of options to go by. Thanks for the great illumination. Joy to you Mooimooi

    Motor brake coil voltage.

Hi DSPdad, Thank you for the explanation, that was very useful. Joy to you.

    Motor brake coil voltage.

Hi, Just curious to know why most motor brake and clutch coils are mostly designed or rated in DC voltage and not in AC. In the case of ordinary relays used for control purposes, they can either be constructed in AC or DC. Thanks Chandran.

High voltage ac to dc converter.

Hi all. Thanks for your valuble inputs, probably converting the 3 phase inputs would be easier than single phase as mentioned by "logbook". Thanks old chap. Joy to you.

High voltage ac to dc converter.

Hi, This is to power the utilities of an old boat that uses 240vdc inputs when the boat docks Thanks

Circuit for DC to DC Convertor.

To all. I thank all of you for your contribution. I must say that I have gained very useful information from your excellent feedback. Thanks and Joy to you.

High voltage ac to dc converter.

Hi Ziet, Thanks for the fast response. Is there any other options available? Thanks

High voltage ac to dc converter.

Hi , I have 240VAC mains and i need to get this converted to 240 VDC at 60A. Is it possible to just use the high power rectifier diodes constructed in a bridge array, with just one electrolytic capacitor. Thanks

Circuit for DC to DC Convertor.

Hi I need to convert a DC 200V supply to 24VDC,10 to 15 Amps for battery charging purposes in a boat. Is there any commercially available converters available? WOuld appreciate also if anyone can provide me a schematic to build one. Thanks in advance..

How do you measure and state surface resistances of materials?

Hi, We normally used 4 point probe method to measure the surface resistivity of silicon wafers in the semiconductor industry. I am not sure what magnitude of resitivity you are planning to measure. The four point probe works by forcing current through the two outer probes and measure the voltage...

    LED life

Hi, Normally you would be sseing a LI ( Luminious intensity) degradation of about 15 to 30 percent if you operate at Room temp Burn in at maximum current rating of the product specs over a period of 1000 hours. If the degradation is more than 30% eyeball judgement could tell you cleary that the...

Hi, We are using RF connector

Hi Melone, Could be Dynamic resistance also!. But I thought ordinary reistors(except wirewound) do not change their values unlike capacitors or inductors because they do not possess inductive or capacitive property. Please bring some light to my ignorance. Best Regards

Hi, We are using RF connector

Hi jwethehman, 60 milliohm around contacts do make sense and I think your guestimation may be correct although I wouldnt go to the Bank of America to bank this. Anyway I dont know why some suppliers use Dohm instead of just 0.06ohm or 60 milliohm. Thanks for your help.

Hi, We are using RF connector

Hi, We are using RF connector for our audio systems. One of the specifications of the connector reads as follows.. " Resistance shall not exceed 0.6Dohm at 1 amp at each contact. I need to know what this spec means and how to go about measuring this parameter. In fact this is the first...
