    Flexibox, That could be an option. But what I did not mention in my first post (to not unnecessary complicate my explanation) is that there are actually two different types of products (metal tubes).     @Ibrahim, That is a good remark. According to o-ring suppliers specifications, surface roughness for grooves should range from 0.8 to 1.6 um Ra (micrometer Ra). That can be achieved with milling.
