    I think sync motors were made for 400Hz systems, as well as 60Hz, so you might be able to find one with a higher speed rating. My recollection is 400Hz is used in aircraft to make things smaller.

    And what of fixed value insurance? At least that way the insurance company knows the maximum payout. Like life insurance, the payout is a fixed value. The home owner has some risk with this, but not a total risk.

    I would expect a larger heat island to evaporate more water vapor into the air, to create a higher local humidity. Thus more local rain. But I would think some of that would dissipate with higher winds. Maybe start a conspiracy theory that China has been cloud seeding with hot air balloons.

    I would suspect the connections between the sections of track. My recollections of cars like this, it only takes one of the connection pins of the track(there should be two per car), just bend the pin a little so it makes good connection with the next section of track. I have similar issues...
