Possible to weld an axle shaft
I do not know anything about the makeup of the shaft. It seems to be soft because you can file into it fairly easily. I think the splined ends may be hardened somehow, but not sure about the center of the shaft- chupp100

Possible to weld an axle shaft
Can anyone give advice on welding an axle shaft? I have been told it will break beside the joint where welded. Would it be possible to temper it after welding to bring back the strength. Any advice would be appreciated chupp100- chupp100
