    Phosphate coating of Hypoid gears of rear axle

    My question is regarding phosphate coating of Hypoid gears in Automotive Rear live axle. There are mixed opinion on this, few recommends it while few suggest it as not-necessary. Can anyone suggest in which conditions this coating will be beneficial? and how can one establish its benefit by testing.
