Can one engine be inherently more powerful than another?
Absolutely - but one thing you have to consider is that you can't just look at one number, such as "peak torque" or "peak hp"... One of the two engines could make twice the peak hp by being tuned for a torque peak at high RPM, and the other engine of physically similar...- GhettoEngineering
