    Datum reference - Symbol placement

Placement of the new datum feature symbol (triangle) can be critical. If the triangle is in front of the arrow dimensionning a feature it indicate that a datum axis should be established using the feature indicated. If the triangle is on a "leg" of a dimension, the datum may be interpreted as a...

How to protect a microphone from moisture

In fact an IP 42 should be good. I have seen (in another life :-) ) a microphone protected with a membrane of goretex or another stuff but it has been a long time (at least 3 years) and I can't remember a possible supplier

    Sketch origin

I tried to change the sketch plane and yes, it is doing something to my sketch origin, she had not moved but now she is head down... (and always at the wrong place) I suspect some rules but cannot watch them.

    Sketch origin

Do you know how to control the placement of the sketch origin (not the part origin). I have some parts where sketch origins are not at the same place from one function to another but i can't start to understand why? If i want to move the sketch origin in ONE sketh, what do I do? NB: For me it is...

    Large Fresnel lens

For the UV problem, I agree of course :-) But why not use a cylindrical fresnel lens with a bunch of glass or PC cases in prism shape. You could in this way obtain a sort of greenhouse...

    True type font in excel

We use a special sheet to trace mechanical parts along the process of controling dimensions. To add special symbol of dimensioning, we use a special true type font. But unfortunately our subcontractors do not have it. Is there a way to add the font in the sheet like in word?

    Strange behaviour DXF

I tried to include an excell sheet in one of our drawing format. This sheet show the usual dimensions for molded plastic part.It is very easy to use with the possibility to change with two click the active sheet and in doing so the global precision of manufacturing. Edrawing work fine with this...

If Solid Works is so good...

I am using daily SW, it is a good 3D modeler, and the surface tools are becoming better and better. If you design parts and assembly without strange shapes, perhaps you could try a simplier soft. I have used a lot ProE and I think that SW his a very good challenger.
