    Hi TGS4, I don't quite understand "at the component level". I checked ASME code again. On P547 equation 5.29, the delta Spk should be von Mises, and need to get the difference first for every node. Am I right? Thanks for your help? David

    tlbdhf, I do use ASME BPVC for design and analysis for certificate (steel casting valve). But I don't have too much experience on weldment. I can consult ASME and AWS codes about weldment, however, I still want to know some special concern about casting weldment for pressure vessel structure...
